Ceramic Beads for Heating Pads for Enhanced Warmth and Comfort
Ceramic Beads For Heating Pads For Enhanced Warmth and Comfort
Ceramic heating pads provide effective pain relief, relaxation and stiffness relief while simultaneously increasing circulation and supporting healing.
Flexible Ceramic Heat Pads (FCPs) are created from interlocking sintered alumina oxide ceramic beads insulated by multi-strand quality 80/20 nickel/chrome wire insulation, featuring camlock connectors for cold tails. Used as flexible pads or channel heaters in pre and post weld heat treatment applications as well as welding process stress relief, stress relieving applications or resistance-heating environments, FCPs are an integral component of flexible pads or channel heaters used as resistance-heating environments.
Porcelain Clay
Need something to ease sore muscles after a hard day of work or want something luxurious for a spa-like experience? This natural, microwaveable neck compress could be just what's needed. Crafted with premium nickel-chromium 80/20 19-stranded resistance wire that runs through durable ceramic beads is made for microwave use for ultimate relaxation and soothing relief.
Porcelain clay is typically composed of white primary clay mixed with other minerals like feldspar, quartz and petuntse (China Clay). It is high-fired clay that usually fires to cone 10 for firing. Also referred to as soft paste or bone china due to being created by Chinese potters using bone ash for stiffening purposes during production and firing processes, porcelain clay has long been popularly referred to as soft paste or bone china clay.
Most low-fire porcelain recipes feature kaolin mixed with sand / grog blend, providing less drying shrinkage and increased plasticity, for nearly zero porosity and near translucent effects if the clay body contains silica particles; firing to 05 is possible.
Air Dry Clay
Air dry clay is an engaging craft for children as well as adults alike, providing sensory experiences while offering relaxation through hobby. Non-toxic and fun to work with, air dry clay provides sensory engagement while offering relaxation to all those involved in its crafting.
Air-dry clay makes an excellent heating pad material, as it is safe for microwave use, retains heat efficiently, and can be combined with other fillers such as dried herbs or silica gel beads to form therapeutic heat pads.
Air-dry clay comes in various colors and hardnesses to meet every creative need, from soft clays that are easy to work with to stiffer varieties that provide fine detail sculpting capabilities. You can even paint over it once it has dried completely - just be sure to use high quality acrylic paint!
Polymer Clay
Polymer clay is an extremely versatile craft material, suitable for a range of creative endeavors. As its soft consistency makes it easy for even novice crafters to work with it, making it great for children and those with limited storage space. Additionally, its small workspace requirements make this an excellent way of being creative!
Before using polymer clay, it must first be conditioned. Many brands of clay such as Sculpey and Fimo require this step in order to become soft enough for easy kneading and working.
Conditioning polymer clay involves rubbing it between your fingertips to break down hard particles and make it soft and malleable, and then shaping into various forms such as rolls, cuts and forms. Once this shape has been created it should be baked according to package instructions until hardening occurs and hardening occurs - polymer clay is safe around both pets and children and can create adorable figurines for home decor!
Silica Gel Beads
Silica gel is an efficient desiccant made of silicon dioxide that effectively absorbs moisture. Typically seen shaped into beads or granules for packaging shoes, beef jerky, electronic devices and food items that require airtight storage environments; though sometimes with an indicator color change when moisture absorption capacity has been reached.
These small packets of silica gel can be dangerously easy for children to swallow, prompting all-caps warnings against doing so and potentially choking out. Ingestion also renders their moisture-absorption capabilities useless, rendering these packets less useful as an antidote.
Avoid tossing moisture-absorbing packets away by sewing them into fabric bags to use at home instead. Cotton makes for an excellent material as it will less likely irritate delicate fabrics like wool or linen, such as quilters' fat quarters. Simply cut squares from cotton fabric such as fat quarters from your quilting project or store-bought calico with pinking shears for easy bag creation.
